Among the possible stops on the island of Spargi during our catamaran tour there is certainly Cala soraya one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of the archipelago of La Maddalena. It is located a few meters from Cala Corsara, majestic and particularly bright thanks to its white sand. The real name of the cove is Cala Ciaccaro and it was the Christmas shepherd Berretta who gave it to him. With the advent of tourists Cala Ciaccaro, which until then was quiet in its anonymity, was overwhelmed by the events of the former queen of Persia Soraya Esfandiary. Among the various stories that have surfaced about the origin of the name, it is said that the beautiful princess, in addition to assiduously attending that bay in difficult times with the shah, in that same bay there was a night of love with a local sailor.
